I am reading When You Reach Me. The story takes place in New York City in the 1970's, which is interesting to me since that is when I was growing up! Miranda, the main character of the story is always reading A Wrinkle In Time, which is about a girl who was able to "tesser" or travel in time. I know this has something to do with Miranda's life, but I am not sure how yet. There are interesting characters in the story including a homeless man, a sandwich shop owner, and some of her friends. One friend is a "former friend" but he is continually being referenced in the book. I have a feeling that he is important, but again I am not sure yet. That is what keeps me reading. I'm interested in finding out how all of the story's pieces tie together!
I am reading Tales of Forth Grade Nothing. It takes place in a old apartment at 25 West 68th Street. This keeps me reading because it is really interesting and it is so funny. I just hope that I can finish the book soon.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Percy Jackson and the Titans Curse. So far it's been talking place all over New York state and the reason is Percy was riding "Black Jack" he's well.... a flying horse!He calls Percy"Boss"because Posidan is the creater of horses (he made them out of sea foam)so his children can talk to horses. Mr.D (The wine god or'Dude')tried to stop Percy from saving his friends. THE REASON I'M STILL READING THIS BOOK IS:The friends of Percy are being followed by a monster that looks like an Army guy. I can't wait to see or READ what happens next.

ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called Dragon Breath. It is about a dragon that can not breath fire. He failed a test so he explors all under water there are a lot cool sea water life. Did I say that the dragon that can not breath fire has a cousin that breaths under water. But those cool things are not what are what keeps me reading, they end up getting attacked by a giant squid. All that just for a test.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Wizard and Witch, The Gift. It’s about a wizard and witch that are running from a group of people called the N.O. The brother is the wizard and is 13 and the sister is the witch and is about 12. They are wanted wizards for using magic, which is not allowed. They used to have a family. They got eliminated for using magic. The book takes place in shadowland and a freeland. The N.O. people are in the shadowland and are bad because they eliminate wizards because of using magic. The freeland is good because there is no N.O. because then you can use magic if you’re a wizard. I don’t know why they don’t want them to use magic. I think that an incident happened with magic that a couple of people died and that’s why don’t want anyone to use magic. I got interested in that book because of Harry Potter because Harry Potter is about wizards and this book is about a wizard and a witch so I thought that I might like it because I like magic and it’s cool how they can use different spells. This keeps me reading because they keep finding places that might have monsters and I want to find out if they’re actually monsters or a friend and what’s going to happen.

I am reading Gerionimo Stillton it is about Trap and Gerionimo. Geronimo is trying to get to transaltainta to save Trap in the castle with dangerous things in the castle or nothing at all or freinds. He is a magazine mouse and he needs to do his work or his granpal will fire him so he does it while he is there. (granpal is a grouch)and Geronimo does not want to get fired exspecily by his granpal.
ReplyDeleteI am reading this book because it keeps me wondering what will happen to Trap and if it is not scary in the castle and what ever is in the castle is nice. Or theres nothing at all but items that are old and just dusty and statrues of people that are inventors or history of inpotant mice. If they find Trap in danger or fine with freinds or himself looking around to see what is there.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is called The Absent Author. It is about 3 kids named Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose. A very famous author is coming all the way from Maine to Conneticut to host a book signing at the Book Nook bookstore. Dink wrote a letter to the author, Wallis Wallace, asking if he would come to the bookstore. Dink and Josh ran over to Ruth Rose's house to get her. After they went to get her they headed straight to the bookstore. When they arrived at the bookstore they found a sign that said, "welcome Wallis Wallace". They peaked into the bookstore window and found an empty chair where Wallis Wallace was supposed to be signing books. I predict that the author will not show up at all. I think that the three kids will search for him but won't find him. I think this book will end with a mystery like some of Chris Van Allsburg's books. I am reading this book because I like mysteries and it keeps like my interest like no other book does.
I am currently reading Secrets Of Droon special edition. Here is some of the text: Spar the evil sorcerer,pulling me Eric Hinkle,down into the sewer! Gross! Really gross and smelly.The purpose of this book is 3 kids who go under the downstairs stairs, turn on this light and takes them to Droon where they meet new people and work together to defeat an evil sorcerer named Spar. They also go on missions and this book keeps me reading because it is mischievious and they are mystery books which are the type of books that keep my interest.

ReplyDeleteIt is about three kids who are Kate, Stickey, and Reynie. They take tests to get in the Benedict Society. The Benedict Society is for very talented kids. The reason they want to be in the Society is because they want to be with kids like them.
The reason I am reading this book is because it keeps me wondering what will happen next.
I am reading the Little House on the Prairie series and I am on book number 3, Farmer Boy. Why I keep reading it is because this is the 1st time I am reading this series and they have interesting ways of doing things. For example: when eating dinner children must be seen but not heard; they have to sit very still at their desk at school; all the children walk to school, they did not have buses; they have a one room school house with one teacher and the boys sit on one side and the girls sit on the other side; they do not have cars, they either walk or go by horses/wagons; and, they have to hunt there meat rather than go to the grocery store. I am learning what life was like in the 1870s and how different it is now.

ReplyDeleteThe book is about this family who gets penguins for New Years. The family only gets 1 penguin a day and they try to find who is sending them but there is no name on the box. But there is a note in the box with the penguin and it said,...
Hi I am number 1 and feed me when I am hungry!
But still no name from who sent the penguin on the note?
The next day they get another penguin from the person...STILL NO NAME!!!!!!!!!
The note said,...
I am number 2 take care of me well!
The next day same thing except this time the note said,...
I am number 3 take care of me a lot I get dirty!
After the family got more than 19 penguins the dad said ,"we should name them." So they named them. After the family got 60 penguins they went crazy! Then they said,"I think my sister Amy is sending all of these penguins because she likes to play jokes." The family got penguins till MARCH!!!!
That is all I got to read so far.
I am reading Cam Jansen and the Secret Service Mystery. Cam goes to Lake Mill Elementary School. I like this story because sometimes she can't focus on her work because she has a mystery that needs to be solved. I sometimes have trouble concentrating at school because I can't wait to get to know what I am going to do with my family. I want to know what happened to Mrs. Pearl's pearl necklace. Some other people in the book are Governor Zellner, Ms. Benson, Dr.Prell, Danny and Eric and Beth. I like reading this story because I LOVE mysteries.

I am the the little brother, Fudge who always gets in trouble and my older sister is the big brother, Petter. This book is really funny it always has surprise. I always wonder what will happen next!!
ReplyDeleteI am reading Take Down. Take Down is about Sean and and his hard time fitting into his family. Sean has a stepbrother and a stepdad. Sean gets in trouble by his mom for fighting so he wrestles at the school. There is a kid that always picks on Sean and his name is Max "the octopuss". Max is a wrestler too. What keeps me interested in the book is I wonder if Sean and Max are going to wrestle and if so I wonder who is gonna win.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Percy Jackson and The Last Olympian. I'm reading this because it was the next book in my series. I like it because it has action, chapter after chapter. I'm going to keep on reading this book because I want to find out who the last Olympian is. I also want to find out where the next adventure will be. I just finished reading about an underwater battle of all of the underwater worriers and Poseidon against a giant squid. I wonder what will happen next.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Accidentally Fabulous. It take place at the main character Amy Flowers uncle's wedding. Amy meets her new cousin that her uncle keeps telling her about. Amy is getting along well with new cousin. Also Amy is getting ready for her first day at her new school but there one thing at her new school that is making her very mad and that is Fiona and her friends. They are bullys to everyone. Amy is trying to do something about it.

ReplyDeleteI am reading The Wide-Awake Princes. It takes place in a castle but I don't know what year. So far ti is about a girl who has a spell on her and the spell is that she needs to sleep for 100 or 10 years. She has a god mother who has one wish for her and the wish she put on her was that if any spells get put on her they don't work and they bounce back at the person but the spell she has on her now (the sleep for 100 or 10 years one) stays on her. Right now at the spot I stopped at was that they were looking for the girl and one of the people that were looking for her went to this place and a lady said she would turn the girl into a beetle. The girl said,"I wouldn't do that if I were you." But the lady did it any way and the girl held her ears and a invisible bubble formed around her and the spell bounced back to the lady tuning her into a beetle and she said,"What is going on here?"
