  1. The setting in the book is very important because it is the reason there are problems for Maniac Magee. It took place in a town that was divided into two parts, the East End and the West End. One side of town was where African Americans lived...except for Maniac Magee. This caused him problems because some people living there thought he should NOT be there, that he should be on the "white" side of town. Maniac did not understand this for a long time, but when he figured out there was hatred for him, it really upset him. It upset him so much that he ran away for an entire day and into the night.

  2. The setting in the book is very important because the setting is the reason that he gets in trouble and that some people do not like. But some people like him and care for him like Adman's family. They toch him in when he tolled them that he had no family and no place to live only if you count a deer shad as a home!!! But also the town had divided into two parts, the East End and the West End. One side of town was where African Americans lived...except for Maniac Magee. And on the other side on the town there was white people!!

  4. The setting in the book is very important because there are problems for Maniac Magee. It took place when there were segregation laws and that is why there is an East end and a West end. One side of town was where African Americans lived except for Maniac Magee. this is a problem for him because whites do not like black and black do not like whites. Jeffery could not see what it meant then all of a sudden he could see the troubles he was having to give to his family. He ran away from home for a day sand half the night all because he was white and they were black and they wanted him to go were he belonged and stay there and never come back.

  5. I think the setting in the book is very important because if you do not no the setting you do not no part of the story because the setting is still when the segregation law was important. The town gets separated because the segregation law.But Maniac Magee lives on the white side of town.

  7. The setting is really important because you need to know the setting to get part of the story. You need to know that because the town gets separated. There were two parts of the town the East End and the West End. The African Americans lived on one side and the "White" people lived on the other side. The segregation in this story causes problems for him and the fact that the Whites can't even be in the same neighborhood is segregation. An example of one of the problems segregation causes is when Maniac started to live with African American people a lot of people thought Maniac had to leave so he did, but only for one night.

  8. I think the settings are inportant because it tells you it's back when there were not as many rights for "colored" people back then, and because of that there are 2 parts of the town witch were the East end of town in the West part of town.

  9. I think that the setting is very important because in a story, you want to know what the time was. Morning afternoon or evening.Like in Maniac Macgee. In Maniac Magee, there is a west end and a east end. 1 end was for blacks and the other was for whites.A white boy went on the blacks side. He was teased and teased, and then a mom took him for a child along with Amanda who was his sister. Then they found out that Maniac Magee was elergic to pizza.

  10. The setting in the book is important because it was the reason why Maniac Magee as having troubles. In those days there were 2 sides of town the East and West side of town. On one side is where African Americans lived and the other was where the whites lived. One day Maniac Magee ended up on the wrong side of town. He ended up on the black side of town when he was really a white kid. When he got there the people on that side of town thought that he should not be there. They thought he should be on the white side of town where he belonged. But when he arrived at that side of town he gradually started to figure out that he was hated. He got so mad that he ran away for 1 whole day and a little bit into the night!

  11. The setting in the book is very important because it is the reason there are problems for Maniac Magee. It took place in town there was a west side & a east side. One side was for colored people... and the other side was for white people. SO people were black went to there side except for Maniac Magee. He was white but he lived with a black family because he didn't have a mom or a dad & he found a family. One day he started talking trash & his mom who he is living with was so mad she said,"throw that mouth out the door I want your kind aditood."

  12. I think the setting of the book is very important the reason why is because Maniac Magee is white and he is living on the side of town where black people live. They had split the town into the east end and the west end. Maniac Magee live on the east end with a black family because he had no mom or dad.

  13. The setting in the book is very important because you need to know the setting to understand the part of the story. You need to know that because the town get separated. I know you need to know this because there is a west end and there is a east end. The black people lived on one side and the white people lived on he other. The segregation in this story causes problems for him and that the white can't even be in the same neighborhood is segregation.

  15. The setting is important because if there wasn`t a setting you wouldn`t know the two towns are separated. The setting tells you were the story takes place. The setting helps you understand what going on and what`s happening in the story. If there wasn`t a setting you wouldn`t know why ther was an east end and a west end to separated. That`s why the setting is very important.

  17. The setting is important because so you can kwon when this is going on and that were the story takes places and that Maniac Magee is at where he doeoes not go and people are kick him at an d said to him to go back where he go in the north and stare there and do not come back. Then these that are black and mad at him and he walket away but did not ran

  18. I think the setting is important because all the problems that Maniac has includes the setting. For example, when he was running away he did not know about the rule about the West side and the East side and he was white and he went on the black side and the blacks wanted him to go back to the white side.
