Here are some examples of different book genres: fiction, nonfiction, biography, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, poetry
My Example: I enjoy reading a variety of books, but I'd have to say that I prefer reading biographies. The way other people have shaped history intrigues me and inspires me. For example, I read a book about a man who had been a slave all of his life. He didn't like being a slave and decided to do something about it. He, with the help of a friend, actually boxed himself up and mailed himself to Philadelphia where he could be free. I find great pleasure in reading stories where other people have been hopeful and have worked to achieve their goals. The genre I like the least would have to be science fiction. It is difficult for me to "get lost" in those books and want to continue turning the pages to read on.
I have three favorite books Geronimo Sillton, harry potter, and lightning thief I was reading lightning thief and then I was done and I put it where it was suposed to go and I left to go somewhere and my dog ate my book and I want to finish the first one first. Right now I am reading Geronimo Stillton the bandit cats and I am almost finished the book.
ReplyDeleteI just started reading the lightnig theif I like that book because it has a little ation mixed with mystery and those are my two favorite types of books. I like those types of books because you never know what iis going to happen you never know if someone is going to attack them anything could just happen. My goal is to finish the series.
ReplyDeleteI like mysterious, action, and comedy but I like mysterious better but I'm reading a comedy book right now( Big Nate).I'm hoping to read Percy Jackson next.

ReplyDeleteI like fiction books, specifically action books with Greek Mythology. The Percy Jackson series of books I find extremely interesting because there's always a mystery within an adventure.
ReplyDeleteI like chapter books. My favorite books are writen by Carl Hiaasen. I am reading Scat right now because I just got done with the book Hoot. I really like his books because it make me feel like I am there in the scary, boring, intorresting parts of the story. I like the tipes of chapter books that take you a long time to read. This is what I always say when I get new books. The longer the better. That is why I LOVE chapter books.
ReplyDeleteI really like fiction books and mystery books. I like the book Percy Jackson and the Olympian. I like that book because it makes me not want to stop reading and go on. I also like that book because it has tons of mystery's! One mystery is that Percy Jackson is trying to find out why Grover is his "GARDEION?" And why the old lady's are knitting socks with big,big,big,big sissers and why the socks are like 5 times the size of reguler socks. That is why I like fiction books and mystery books.
ReplyDeleteI like chaper books like Nancy Drew books they are very intrusting to me. I have only finshed one THE WISPRING STATUE. I love realy any book (no gron up booksor Harry Potter moms say none of them)So any spare time I get is full of reading. I like mysrtes the best!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like biographys and mysterys books! I like mysterys because they always have something exciting going on in them! I like biographys because they tell me more about the person that it is talking about. For example: I like learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and other famous people like the presedents! I love learning about George Washington and Abe Lincoln the best! That is what types of books I LOVE to read!

ReplyDeleteGregor the Overlander was a good book because it had an interesting way of telling the story because instead of using normal animals like dogs and cats, they used giant bats and they flew on them underground. There were talking cockroaches and they used normal things for weapons. In Gregor the Overlander, he used a root beer bottle to kill a big spider.
ReplyDeleteI like the book series Harry Potter because it is kind of like knights, but instead of knights it’s wizards fighting evil wizards. It is a bunch of adventures and it’s a cliff hanger because at the end of the chapters, you want to read more to see what happens.
I like the BeastQuest series. It is about a boy named Tom and he is fighting beasts to recover armor stolen from a kingdom called Avantia. And the evil kingdom Gorgontia is where Malvel the evil wizard lives and rules.
I like the book DragonRider. It is about dragons and other magical creatures trying to find the rim of heaven because where they live in caves is going to get flooded by water.
I would call this genre adventure and I like it because it is action and they get into a lot of fights and it’s interesting to listen to what happens in the fights. Dangerous things happen a lot and it’s fun to see what happens.
I prefer fiction books because anything can happen such as a wolf can blow down a house, a fairy can fly, an animal can speak and a princess can have 70 feet of hair.My favorite fiction book is “Little Chick’s Breakfast” because it is about a little chick who gets up too early and is hungry. She has to wait for the sun to come up so then she can have her breakfast. Little chick wants her breakfast because everyone is getting there breakfast but it is the routine and she has to wait her turn. She had her favorite breakfast dried corn.
ReplyDeleteI like fiction books about Greek Gods,for example the Percy Jackson series. I like them because there is action in mostly all of the chapters. I really like when there are big battles between the Titians and the Gods. I also like when Percy goes to the underworld and falls into the the river stynx and becomes unstopable. When he gets out of the river stynx, he fights a lot of skeleton worriers and he defeats all of them. His only weak spot is somewhere on his back. Those are my favorite books. They are very exciting and full of adventures!

I like mysteries book because they always keep you guessing even if you read till the end of the chapter. I like magical book because I think they are like fiction books but with a twist. I am a picker book person because I do not like book as much as other people and so book are not so interesting even if they are fiction books, mysteries book, and magical book.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite kind of books are Baby mouse books because they have action in them and they have excitment in them. For example... Baby mouse is sometimes a never give-up person she always keeps on trying and trying. She is also a nice and trust worthy friend to people. Thats why I like Baby Mouse books.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books are Geronimo Stilton I just finished the book a week ago it was a good book. I like action, comedy, and mystery and I am starting to read a new Geronimo book called Geronimo a cheese colored camper.

I like fiction books, mysteries books. I like fiction books because they are funny like Chester. I like mysteries books because they always keep you thinking even if you read the end of the book sometimes! ReplyDeleteI like chapter books like the American girl books. I don't really know why but I guess because they are long and I like long books and because sometimes there might be a mystery or sometimes they are just so intresting you don't want to stop reading them.
ReplyDeleteIn the American girl book it tells about someones life. The title is Meet Juile and in her life she wanted to play basketball but the coach said she could not. The coach said that because he thought basketball was only for boys and it was in the 1940's. In the 1940's people thought that girls could not do anything physical like basketball.I like this story because I play basketball and Juile gets to play basketball in the end too.
I like mystery books and action books because they are interesting to read. For example, Persey Jackson books they are both mystery and action so it is more exciting because it is a combination of my favorite type of books.

ReplyDeleteBecause it give me a lot more details and it shows pictures that tell me what they are talking about. I also like this because it's funny and I enjoy the pictures. I enjoy the speech bubbles and how they show what it is going on. The pictures create movement and they some times have comebacks and side bar comments too. In graphic novels they go to all kinds of places like the store and the pet shop.Thats why I like graphic novels.
I enjoy chapter books about spots. I am reading Wreasling at school it is fiction book and I leand a lot about wreasling in Weasling I lerned that there was three kinds of wreasling styes of wreasling and girls have biger sholder straps than boys. The spots book books because I relhte to sport books and that is why I dot like sport I love them a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading chapter books that are myseriouse, funny, and crazy all over the place adventure type of books. The reason I like them is because I want a book that I can read the whole book and for the PSSA's that when i'm done I can enjoy it and I won't finish it. For example, Secrets Of Droon series. The one I am occupied on is Mask of Malabian. I always read them and they keep me occupied. The best part is they hold my interest.
